| Our Story, It all started in Zenia, California with Mike's mom and dad began picking concord grapes, which grew around the house every fall. Once carefully picked, the production of fermenting them into wine took place in the utility room. Will always remember loving that gassy smell and watching the CO2 bubbling out of the fermentors. After that, it's all history. We moved to Mariposa in 2000 where we began our first vineyard operation and have been here ever since. Do note, our first vines, Sangiovese on 110R rootstock, were planted in 2002. Our first vintage was 2004. Today, we celebrate our fifth harvest and have Barbera, Nebbiolo, Primitivo and Tempranillo in the ground, as well as our original Sangiovese. Our 2008 vintage includes our own fruit, but also the highest quality fruit from our friends Doug Chappell of Chappell Vineyards (Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon) and Cliff and Mary Lou Gardner (Sangiovese-Cabernet Sauvignon). We are proud and appreciative of our relationships with these wonderful professionals. They are truly great people. We hope that you will choose to taste and enjoy the products we are so passionate about and take great pride in. Ciao, Mike and Tori Hall |
